CRITI CARE FIRE ACADEMY

FIRE FIGHTER LEVEL I & II, IFSAC ACCREDITED

The Fire Academy is a division of Criti Care Inc., a Winnipeg, Manitoba based company operated by experienced emergency services personnel.

The Fire Academy delivers professional firefighter courses targeted towards the busy and self-motivated student. The self paced, online didactic portion allows candidates to complete core theory, lessons, assignments and practice tests from the comfort of their own home or station while still providing for the required knowledge. The skills camp offers the requisite practice under the guidance and experience of career Firefighters employed with major metropolitan fire departments as senior officers (District Chiefs, Captains), Firefighter Paramedics and Engineer Operators. The skills camp is intense, physically and mentally demanding, vigorous, high energy training that provides a fast track for the motivated student.

FIRE FIGHTER PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION PROGRAM (NFPA 1001)
It is intended that the program provide graduates with the basic training to serve their communities as career Fire Fighters. This certification program provides recognition that individuals have met sections of NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter Standard considered by the Office of the Fire Commissioner to be essential for all fire fighters in Manitoba. IFSAC Accreditation will also enhance the employability of the graduate and portability of the training to other jurisdictions. Additionally the Fire Fighter Professional Qualification Program is the prerequisite for many other NFPA programs.

NFPA 1001 LEVEL I
This course provides students with the core knowledge and skills to perform as a member of the fire fighting team under direct supervision in hostile environments. The skills and theory taught are the minimum requirements for a volunteer or career fire fighter whose duties involve primarily structural fire fighting.

NFPA 1001 LEVEL II
Level II builds on the core knowledge and skills attained in level I and enables the student to function on the fire team with equally experienced or less experienced personnel under general supervision. This course also covers rescue skills, vehicle extrication and advanced structural fire fighting.
